Troubleshooting
QR scanner or camera problems
Section titled “QR scanner or camera problems”Camera permission is blocked
Section titled “Camera permission is blocked”Open browser/site permissions for app.indietory.com, allow camera access, then reload or reopen the scanner. A managed browser or device policy can prevent changing the setting.
The scanner does not read the QR code
Section titled “The scanner does not read the QR code”Make sure the full code is visible, reduce glare, adjust distance, hold the camera steady, improve lighting, and check for damage. If you cannot scan, use search or selection; scanning is a convenience layer, not a requirement.
A desktop scanner types but nothing happens
Section titled “A desktop scanner types but nothing happens”Click or tab into the intended scan field first. Most USB/Bluetooth scanners behave like keyboards and need the correct field to have focus.
Login and account access
Section titled “Login and account access”I forgot my password
Section titled “I forgot my password”Use the password-reset flow from the sign-in screen and follow the account email link.
An invitation or reset email did not arrive
Section titled “An invitation or reset email did not arrive”Confirm the address, check spam/junk, allow a few minutes, and ask the workspace administrator to confirm invitation/User state. If it continues, contact support@indietory.com.
I cannot see a Workspace or Module
Section titled “I cannot see a Workspace or Module”Your assigned Role may not include it. Ask someone with Roles access to review the Module permission.
I was logged out on one device
Section titled “I was logged out on one device”Each User can have two concurrent devices. A sign-in beyond that limit can end the longest-inactive session. Sign in again on the device you need, and use individual accounts rather than sharing one login.
Why can’t I edit or delete this record?
Section titled “Why can’t I edit or delete this record?”Indietory protects changes when a record has history. For example, Tracking Type and UOM can become restricted after Item use; released Production Instructions are not normally editable; assigned Custom Roles cannot be deleted; and receipts with changed downstream inventory cannot be voided.
Use the supported alternative: deactivate a record, create a revision, reassign a Role, adjust current inventory, or use another corrective workflow. This preserves reliable history.
Why can’t I use this inventory?
Section titled “Why can’t I use this inventory?”Check current quantity, Lot Status, reservations, correct Item/UOM, Tracking Type and Location requirements, whether stock is removed, and production-specific validation. In a Production Order, refresh availability and rely on the inline reservation/production validation rather than an older number from another screen.
A receipt cannot be voided
Section titled “A receipt cannot be voided”Voiding is available only while the app can safely reverse the receipt. Manual Receipt voids are blocked when inventory has been used or adjusted, when current inventory is lower than received quantity, or when the Lot has later use/adjustment. Purchase Receipt voids are blocked when resulting inventory has been used or changed, an original inventory record is unavailable, or the source transaction cannot be safely reversed.
Leave the receipt in history, identify the current state, correct it through the appropriate workflow such as Adjust Inventory, and include a clear reason or note where the screen provides one.
Production Order problems
Section titled “Production Order problems”I cannot reserve enough inventory
Section titled “I cannot reserve enough inventory”Review Still Needed to Reserve and fresh availability. Required quantity may exceed valid unreserved stock, or selected stock may not satisfy UOM, tracking, or status rules. Select another valid Lot/Container or correct an actually incorrect inventory record.
My reservation was rejected
Section titled “My reservation was rejected”Read the inline message. Reservation validation refreshes availability so a stale number cannot allow two users/orders to reserve the same stock.
Production says Remaining to Add
Section titled “Production says Remaining to Add”The run has not recorded the full planned quantity as actual material use. Continue the Add Material step using valid inventory, or document an explicit omission where the workflow allows it.
I need another Lot during production
Section titled “I need another Lot during production”Use Reserve another source on the current Add Material step, then record consumption from the new valid source. Do not pretend the original source supplied the whole requirement.
I cannot choose an output Location
Section titled “I cannot choose an output Location”Check output Tracking Type. Container-tracked output requires a Container Location; other tracking levels may offer No location.
I cannot complete the order
Section titled “I cannot complete the order”Review incomplete steps, required output information, required material consumption or omission records, and current validation. Complete the missing operational record rather than forcing a status.
Users and Roles problems
Section titled “Users and Roles problems”A User can view but cannot change a record
Section titled “A User can view but cannot change a record”The Role likely has Read Only access. Set the applicable Module to Write when normal working access is appropriate.
Should I use Admin instead of Write?
Section titled “Should I use Admin instead of Write?”Usually not. Admin currently does not generally add behavior beyond Write, so use Write for normal working access.
I cannot delete a Role
Section titled “I cannot delete a Role”Reassign Users that depend on the Custom Role first. Standard Roles cannot be deleted by the tenant.
I cannot activate another User
Section titled “I cannot activate another User”The plan may be at its active-user limit. Review current plan capacity on indietory.com.
