Welcome to Indietory!
Indietory helps makers and small teams keep inventory, purchasing, production, sales, and the records behind those activities connected in one system.
You do not need to learn every part of Indietory before you start. Define the Items you work with, add or receive inventory, then follow that inventory through the actions your business already performs.
This documentation supports a few ways of learning:
- Getting Started follows a practical first-use flow.
- Core Concepts explains Items, Lots, Containers, Tracking Types, Locations, Reservations, and Inventory History.
- Workspace and Module pages provide reference for specific parts of the app.
- Guides connect Modules into complete workflows.
- Troubleshooting helps when something is blocked or unexpected.
Workspaces and Modules
Section titled “Workspaces and Modules”Indietory is organized into Workspaces such as Foundations, Inventory, Quality, Sales, and Settings. Inside each Workspace are focused Modules for specific jobs. Each Workspace shows the Modules available to you, so the interface stays focused on the tools you actually use.
A simple way to think about the flow
Section titled “A simple way to think about the flow”- Define Items, Vendors, Customers, Locations, and Production Instructions.
- Receive or add inventory.
- View and control what you have, where it is, and whether it is usable.
- Purchase or produce more inventory when needed.
- Record sales through Quick Sales.
- Review history when you need to understand what changed and why.
QR scanning can speed up supported inventory and Location workflows, but it is not required. Search and selection remain available when scanning is not practical.
